I am setting up a Cueserver2 as an architectural control and system backup device. I want the cueserver to stop spitting out data when it sees that there is another source on the network. I currently have the following 2 rules written and implemented. Rule 0: Whenever (DMX Universe) [1] (Starts Receiving Data) THEN (Perform Script) (Universe 1; Set universe.priority 0) THEN (Perform Macro) [1] Rule 1: Whenever (DMX Universe) [1] (Stops Receiving Data) THEN (Perform Script) (Universe 1; Set universe.priority 150) THEN (Perform Macro) [2] Macro 1 releases all playbacks Macro 2 chooses playback 2 and fires q2 DO I need to set something to constantly monitor the universe inputs or set it to look for sacn instead of standard dmx?

    Justin,

In addition to the rules you have, you do need to set the input on Universe 1 to sACN. After you do that, CueServer will continually monitor the input on Universe 1 and trigger your rules if it sees that something started or stopped transmitting data on that Universe. That's all you need.

As side note, we strongly recommend that you use a version of CueServer Studio that corresponds with the version of firmware in CueServer. The releases of new CueServer Studio versions are always accompanied by firmware of the same version, and without upgrading the firmware you could get in to situations where features or the whole product don't work as expected. In your case it's the other way around actually to make it worse, your Studio is older (by five versions) then the firmware. The current public version of both is 1.5.5 (as of December 12, 2016).
