What are the DIN Enclosure technical certifications?

The DE-1612 and DE-2416 DIN Enclosures offer multiple certifications. Listed below are the certifications for both enclosures along with their descriptions.

UL50 Type 1
(Underwriters Laboratory)

Indoor use primarily to provide protection against contact with the enclosed equipment and against a limited amount of falling dirt.

CSA Type 1
(Canadian Standards Asc.)

General-purpose enclosure. Protects against accidental contact with live parts.

NEMA Type 1
(National Electrical Manufactures)

Enclosures are intended for indoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against contact with the enclosed equipment or locations where unusual service conditions do not exist.

IEC 60529
(International Electrotechnical Commission)

IEC 60529:1989 Applies to the classification of degrees of protection provided by enclosures for electrical equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 72,5 kV. It has the status of a horizontal standard in accordance with IEC Guide 104.

(Index of Protection)
